Step 12: Adding a Map
Goal: Embed a map and make sure it displays properly on all screens.
What to do
- Watch 30–60 seconds of the video.
- Pause and build that exact part in Dreamweaver.
- Save and preview in your browser.
- Fix anything that looks wrong before moving on.
Tips & things to consider
- Choose the right map zoom level so it’s useful.
- Make sure the map embed doesn’t overflow on mobile.
- If the embed looks squashed, check width/height and your container.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting to define your site in Dreamweaver (links/images break).
- Using spaces or random names for files (hard to link later).
- Working in Live View and getting confused when edits don’t behave as expected.
Check your work
- My file names are clear and consistent.
- My links work (no broken pages).
- My media loads (images/videos/maps show correctly).
- My page looks OK on a small screen.
